What documents do I need to verify my identity?
A list of acceptable ID documents for GatSwap's KYC process.
To complete identity verification, you'll need to provide one of the following government-issued photo IDs:
- Driver's license (any U.S. state)
- State-issued ID card
- U.S. Passport or Passport Card
- Military ID card
What gets checked?
GatSwap's verification system checks that your ID is valid, matches your account name, and has not expired. You'll be asked to photograph both the front and back of your ID and take a short selfie for liveness detection.
FFL dealers applying for a dealer account must also provide their FFL license number, which is validated against the ATF eZ Check system.
All ID images are encrypted and stored in a private bucket. They are never shared with other users or third parties beyond what is required for legal compliance.
