How does payment work on GatSwap?
An overview of how money flows in GatSwap trades.
GatSwap is primarily a trade platform — most exchanges don't involve cash changing hands through GatSwap at all. If the firearms being traded are of similar value, no cash payment is needed.
If there's a value difference ('boot'), the party receiving the more valuable firearm pays the difference. Boot payments are handled through GatSwap's secure payment system, not directly between users.
Payment flow
- 1Both parties agree to trade terms including any cash boot.
- 2The party paying boot completes payment in-app before shipping their firearm.
- 3GatSwap holds the payment in escrow.
- 4Once both FFLs confirm receipt of firearms, the boot is released to the receiving party.
